Welcome to Hopeless Indulgence. This RPG has been around for YEARS. I've cleaned it up and it's ready for new members and a whole new staff. So I say a big welcome to you all and enjoy you're stay. By the way any suggestions or questions there is a board to suite you.
We have some high positions open for your character, and we also have staff auditions going on.
Year One
Winter. New Orleans temperatures have been dropping down to below 40 degrees at night and over 50 in the day. People are coming to work and then straight home. It's harder to find some one to feed upon during this time. Play your games carefully brothers and sisters of darkness.

Registering at Hopless
Your username is very important and because of that I want your usernames to take a bit of thought. Like I don't want to see Lestat walking around here make up your own names!
If you want to post explict content on this site including: Spam, Pornographic pictures, and anything of the sort, you will be banned and your warning level will go up!
Keep all of your post PG to M rated. Though I don't want to see gross stuff, I want to see literate and intellegent posts.
Character Creation
Here are a few guidelines that will help you create a well-rounded character. You can find more information in Pending.
First off, multiple accounts are NOT allowed. That's right not. You can have as many characters as you want as long as you can keep up with them. If you get tired of your character have them die off some way. Another thing that is important, make sure you state in your post what character you are playing so no one gets confused on who is playing who.
Your vampire characters can be any age that you want. Yet not every vampire is going to be an elder. Your character can only be a fledgling if an elder or mature vampire has bitten you. So if you want to have a young character then you can start as a human and ask another who is playing a vampire to bite your character and become their fledgling. Elders and mature vampires can choose weather they want a fledgeling or not.
Try not to make your human/vampire/vampire hunter/dhamphire character perfect and good at everything, they should have faults and weaknesses, as do we all in real life. Add a bit of depth by having your character have scars, burns, or missing limbs, that makes it a bit more challenging. Vampires usually are perfect when they are reborn. Though if you have scar when you were a human then the scars will be permant on your body.
As soon as you post your character info in the Pending board and do a good job you will be awarded a Karma point.
You may not roleplay as a god/goddess or any 'ultimate power' if you are found doing this we'll give you a warning just so you know.
You are not automatically apart of a coven. You must either be changed by an elder/mature vampire or you must very carefully get accepted by a leader in the House of Blues. If the coven is needing a leader feel free to auddition. Meaning that you have to post in the Coven area you want and wait to be accepted as a leader.
Roleplaying
Many people roleplay in many different forms but to cut down on confusion the "prose" form will be used here at Hopeless, an example would be: Em walked into the tavern and sat down at a rather dingy looking table. "How is everyone doing today?" she asked with a pleasant smile. She downed a mug of ale and then sat back, surveying the other patrons.
Try to be considerate to other members and make your posts as literate as possible by trying to use good grammar and spelling. If spelling isn't your strong suit you might want to run your posts through a spell check before you post them.
RP posts must be at least two paragraphs long or more, preferably more, we do understand the occasional muse lose so if you can only post a paragraph then ok. Please refrain from posting something like this:
Quote:
She walked in. She sat down. She smiled and looked around. She was warm. She took off her cloak.
That is not good roleplaying form.
If you are in the middle of roleplaying and you have to leave or you need to say something as yourself but not as your charracter, then put ((OOC: -whatever you want to say- )) this lets others know that you are speaking out of character. Please post OCC at the end of your post and with the smallest font ([font size=1*] Take out the '*' first)
Make your posts so that they are easy to respond to and try to include as many people as you can, if some one suddenly enters your adventure and you are in the middle of something with someone else, try to include them, no one likes feeling left out. If I see anyone intentionally snubbing someone else you'll lose Karma.
Absolutely no power-playing or god-moding, this is unacceptable. This is where you post another character's action or reaction that they have not all ready posted. For example, if Em and Sara are having a duel and in her previous post Sara posted that she lunged away from Em then it is fine for Em, in Em's next post, to say, Sara lunged away from her and Em cursed in annoyance. That is fine because Sara all ready posted the action, Em was just summarizing it. What would not be okay is for Em to post this: Sara lunged away from Em and Em grabbed her by her hair and held the dagger to her throat. Sara was trembling in fear as she felt the dagger against her skin. Em lifted the dagger, chopped off a handful of Sara's hair and then walked away laughing as Sara began to cry. As you can see Em posted Sara's actions and gave her no room to respond, don't make a post one sided, give the other person openings in which they can respond.
You cannot force someone into a Player vs. Player fight. If you want to fight give the character a chance to decline.
Killing a character during a fight is not allowed unless it has first been agreed upon. Make sure the other person is ok with their character suffering the coup de grace.
You can be active in as many threads as you want. In one thread you can be in the Prison and in another feel free to be escaping from somewhere else.
Vampires hunt humans. If you're a human then your fair game to become either a fledgling or dead. But we will have mods playing random human charracters so that the vampires won't die and we won't have all the "attached" humans die. Yet if you want your charracter to die then RP with someone who plays a vampire.
Vampire Hunters
Vampire Hunters have finally been added to the site. We've been waiting a long time for this and if you didn't vote the poll has been sitting there for quite along time. So don't get all roar at me because you didn't get your lazy butts up there and vote.
Anyways there are going to be:
One Leader Vampire Hunter: Audition will be held for him (preferably a him but can be a her).
His "prize" vamp. hunter: Akira
A few of his personal picks: Perferably Five
Then the rest of the hunters: Those don't have to be applied for >.< except they have to be accepted, in the vampire hunter forms.
I know all of this seems like a lot to remember but most of it is really common sense. The most important thing of all is that you are creative and you are having fun!
